At Jagwire, it’s important to us that we support the sport of cycling. But, when evaluating partnerships we look for teams and athletes whose goals are often larger than competition itself. For us it’s about the added contributions these teams or individual athletes are making to our society. Below are examples of some of the athletes and teams we’re proud to support.
Vanderkitten Racing
The Vanderkitten Elite Women’s Cycling Team consists of 8 - 10 elite athletes and a squad of developmental riders who compete in a variety of cycling disciplines all across the United States. As a not-for-profit organization the team is focused less on racing results and more on promoting women’s cycling.
Ernesto Marenchin
Ernesto Marenchin is mountain bike racer from Kent Ohio who specializes in endurance mountain bike events, holds down a 40+ hour work week, and currently holds two professional licensures; one as a Certified Public Accountant and the other as a Professional Mountain Biker. Racing under the Speedgoat banner Ernesto races a full cyclocross season and is a one time Ohio State Elite Cross Champion.
Vorarlberg Corratec Professional Cycling Team
Team Vorarlberg-Corratec, founded in 1999, is an Austria-based UCI Professional Continental Cycling team.
Velo Bellas
The Velo Bella mission is to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle through cycling and laughter. We inspire women to get out and ride a bike, race a bike, and to eventually grow the pool of talent and have a lot of fun along the way. While the core Velo Bella Team is a committed group of female racers, membership includes female cyclists interested in completing their first race, century, or even group ride.
Hypercat Racing
Hypercat Racing is a multi-sport coaching and consulting team. We specialize in cycling and running, offering private, group and on-line coaching. Hypercat welcomes all ability levels, but seeks to partner with athletes who are committed to achieving their goals.
Rachel Sears
Rachel is a professional triathlete with over 18 years of athletic experience under her belt dating back to her teenage days as a runner. A native of New York, Rachel now lives and trains in sunny California. A true ambassador for the sport, Rachel is part owner in Hypercat Racing which seeks to enroll more people into both the fun and competitive sides of triathlons.
Michellie Jones
How does an athlete earn legendary status? To triumph over any competitor in any locale is one way. To that end, Australian Michellie Jones is certainly a true legend. She’s been called the best triathlete in the world, male or female. Period. And it’s hard to dispute; with wins at every distance, over any course, against any competitor, Jones has been come out victorious. She’s the sport’s only Renaissance woman, a true polymath.
Kenda Pro Cycling (Inferno Racing)
Inferno Racing is a not-for-profit entity established to groom and support top level endurance athletes within a regional, national and international environment. The company and its athletes are also committed to raising awareness and monies for selected charities throughout the year. Our mission is to fill the void between the upper echelon of professional sports and the eilte amateur ranks. The program hopes to establish a balance for young and developing talent through mentoring, coaching, monetary support and quality competition.
Katie Compton
Katie Compton specializes in cyclocross racing and is the current women’s USA Cycling Cyclocross National Champion. In 2007 she became the first American woman to podium in the Cyclocross World Championships where she won silver. In Paralympic events she rides a tandem with a blind partner Karissa Whitsell. Katie, the sighted team member, pilots and pedals the tandem in the captain position while Karissa rides in the rear, stoker, position on their tandem. They were dominant in the 2004 Games, winning medals in every event they entered and setting a world record in the 3 km pursuit event.
Owens Healthcare
The Owens Healthcare Cycling Team, based in Redding, California, is an amateur cycling team that competes regionally throughout California and the Western states. The team competes primarily in road races but also in cyclocross and mountain bike races. The cycling team is part of Owens Healthcare’s mission to promote healthy living throughout the communities it serves.
